Dear Readers, Welcome to Awareness Adda. we are here for helping you to get a good score on your examinations like SBI, IBPS, RRB, and SSC etc. so we are providing some important materials. in the previous article, we discussed the and in today article we learn about Atomic Mass Unit and Mole Concept.

Atomic mass unit and mole concept:

Atomic mass of unit (a.m.u)  the 1/12th part of the mass of a carbon atom is called atomic mass unit.

Atomic mass or mass number: the atomic mass or mass number of an element is a number which tells us that the mass of an atom of the element is how many times heavier than the mass of the 1/12th part of a carbon ($c^{12}$).

Here are Some elements and their respective atomic number and atomic mass.

 ELEMENT SYMBOL ATOMIC NUMBER ATOMIC MASS Hydrogen Helium Lithium Boron Carbon Nitrogen Oxygen Sodium Magnesium Aluminum Sulphur potassium calcium iron silver gold lead Zinc H He Li B C N O Na Mg Al S K Ca Fe Ag Au Pb Zn 1 2 3 5 6 7 8 11 12 13 16 19 20 26 47 79 82 50 1.005 4.003 6.940 10.82 12.011 14.006 15.999 22.989 24.32 26.97 32.064 39.09 40.08 55.847 107.880 196.9665 207.21 65.38

If in a substance there are 6.023x$10^{23}$ atoms, molecules or ions then the substance is said to have the 1-mole amount. Thus a definite number (6.023x$10^{23}$) of atoms, molecules or ions of any substance represent one mole and this number is called Avogadro number. Thus in any element, the number of atoms present in 1g atom or 1mole is 6.023x$10^{23}$ and it is called Avogadro number.

In next article, we will provide notes about atomic structure. so keep in touch with us in these topics are very useful to you for getting a good score in your examinations and always remember that “Some fish love to swim upstream. Some people love to overcome challenges”. so prepare well All The Best. Thank you.
